Hello!
I am JackSON, the second oldest of the four SONS. I was 16 when we opened SONS Farm Fresh in 2018. I manage all of our crops. My job is to make sure my fruits and vegetables grow successfully so that I can provide for Oakdale and the surrounding communities. Gardening started out as a hobby, and now, it is my full time career. I absolutely love being a farmer. There are days where it is challenging, but it is such a rewarding job to be able to grow fresh produce for my customers. One of my main focuses is farming pumpkins. I grow over 45+ different pumpkin varieties for our pumpkin village that opens every fall. I grow a variety of shapes and sizes. Petite, small, large, jumbo, pumpkins with warts, any color you can think of. You name it, I grow it! I even grow pumpkins that look like swans and snakes. They are one of my most popular varieties. One of my favorite pumpkin varieties to grow but most challenging are my jumbo pumpkins. They grow so big that I have to grow them on a pallet and bring it to the pumpkin patch with a tractor. They are that big! I absolutely love being able to grow a large and unique pumpkin variety to display at my pumpkin patch for the community to enjoy. When we close for the season, the work doesn’t stop. That’s when I get together with the other “SONS” and we plan what ideas we want to improve and change for the upcoming fruit stand and pumpkin patch season.
